Member Qiao Hong: The gap between China's robot technology and the international advanced level has narrowed significantly

"In the past three years, the loading capacity of industrial robots in China has reached more than half of the world's, and humanoid robot technology has also developed rapidly." On March 4, at the first "member channel" of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, Qiao Hong, a member of the CPPCC National Committee, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the National Key Laboratory of Multi-Modal Artificial Intelligence Systems, said that China's robot technology has been developed in a leap, and the gap with the international advanced level has been significantly reduced.

"Humanoid robots are shaped like humans or can be said to be humanoid, and they have a lot of freedom, can directly use tools, and are likely to replace us in industry, agriculture and other fields to complete a number of tasks." Qiao Hong focused on the development of humanoid robots. She believes that humanoid robots are likely to affect the way we produce and live in the near future. Qiao Hong, for example, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences independently designed and developed the Q series of humanoid robots, built the core technology base of the humanoid robot factory, and the general large factory can quickly form a low-cost and relatively high-performance robot system to serve China's industry and agriculture.

For the future of robot technology, Qiao Hong said that China's robot system will board the country's larger and more important stage, not only to consider the volume of the robot system, but also to consider its reliability, stability, versatility, intelligence, and more importantly, safety. "How to fully integrate the generality and generalization of artificial intelligence, the stability and reliability of automation, the systematization of robots, and the cutting-edge technologies such as brain-like smart materials has become the common dream and challenge of scientific and technological workers and entrepreneurs in this field." Qiao Hong said.
